Heart Failure
Some of the symptoms associated with heart failure include fatigue, shortness of breath, persistent coughing (due to fluid accumulation in the lungs), swelling of the feet, ankles, legs, and occasionally the abdomen. Depending on the severity of the heart failure, people may or may not be aware that their heart has begun to decline in function. In some cases, years may go by before symptoms appear. Each patient's prognosis depends on many factors, including age, the severity of the heart failure, and general health.
