For Women

Recent studies indicate women may experience different stroke symptoms than men. In addition to the symptoms described under “Stroke Symptoms,” women may report some or all of the following difficulties, most of which are vague in nature:

  • symptoms of pain
  • changes in consciousness
  • disorientation
  • chest pain
  • shortness of breath

Researchers believe this is the reason male stroke victims are diagnosed quicker than women.
